Carle Foundation Hospital
Zach Harkey is a clinical research coordinator working out of Carle Foundation Hospital. Before getting his masters in clinical research administration, he was involved in neuroscience research at Eastern Michigan University studying neuroplasticity in dopamine depleted mice olfactory bulbs. While doing research for Eastern Michigan University he was granted the Meta-Hellwig fellowship to build and do research using an olfactometer which measures behavioral data from mice, specifically time spent smelling Isoamyl Acetate through a positive air flow machine after nasal flush of detergent that would deplete short axon domanergic cells ability to signal to each other. He got his masters degree in clinical research administration after finishing his thesis on off-label prescription regulations during pandemic settings.
